Bruschetta with Garlic Cream Cheese

A Delicious Twist on a Classic Italian Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, diced

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)

  • Fresh parsley or basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Baguette:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.

  3. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil.

  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy. Remove and let cool.

Make Garlic Cream Cheese Spread:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and minced garlic.

  2. Add chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  3. Prepare the Tomato Topping:

  4. In a small bowl, toss the diced cherry tomatoes with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  5. Optional: Drizzle with balsamic glaze for extra flavor.

Assemble the Bruschetta:

  1. Spread a generous layer of garlic cream cheese on each toasted baguette slice.

  2. Top with a spoonful of tomato mixture.

  3. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil leaves.

Serve:

  1. Arrange bruschetta on a platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
